Bespoke Study in Leicestershire

A private client needed his compact study to function both as an efficient and comfortable working space and as secure accommodation for his guns and other shooting paraphernalia. After consultation, the design incorporated a pedestal desk, a flexible range of shelving, display, and other storage, corner alcoves, window surrounds and radiator housing, and an integrated gun cabinet with ammunition drawers and wardrobe space for shooting clothing.

Natural oak, polished to a golden honey lustre matching the floorboards, is softened by adjustable glass shelving and internal LED lighting to create an intimate environment in keeping with the room’s dual function. The owner’s guns are securely stored in a steel safe behind solid oak. Hammered antique brass is used for handles, drawer pulls, and the decorative grille on the radiator cabinet, reflecting and enhancing the warm patina of the oak.
